HISTORY
BOBO CONSTRUCTION, INC.
BUILDING EXCELLENCE SINCE 1952

Founded in 1952 by Claude Bobo, Bobo Construction began as a small, family-run business built on hard work, determination, and the desire to provide for future generations. Originally from Oklahoma, Claude came to California like many others—seeking opportunity, stability, and the chance to build something of his own. He first worked as a sheet metal worker maintaining U.S. Navy ships at Mare Island before relocating his family to Sacramento, where he founded Bobo Sheet Metal.
Through dedication to craftsmanship and an unwavering work ethic, the company steadily grew. During the 1960s and 1970s, Claude’s son, Gary Bobo, joined the business, and together they expanded into custom residential construction and real estate development. This period marked an important evolution—from a trade-focused operation to a broader construction company capable of managing increasingly complex projects.
As the construction industry expanded in the 1980s, Gary led the company’s transition into full-scale commercial construction. Bobo Construction began designing and building complete commercial projects and, through strong relationships with architects, engineers, and public-sector agencies, was invited to pursue public works and school projects. This expansion established Bobo Construction as a trusted builder in both the public and private sectors.
The company entered its next generation when Chris Bobo joined the firm full time and later became President. Under his leadership, Bobo Construction continued to grow while remaining grounded in the principle he articulated: “Whatever is fair and right, that’s what we do.”
Today, Austin Bobo serves as part owner of Bobo Construction, carrying the company into its fourth generation. Building on the foundation laid before him, Austin is committed to preserving the values, integrity, and work ethic that have defined Bobo Construction for over seven decades—while continuing to strengthen the company’s capabilities, leadership, and long-term vision for the future.
